St James is located on the T2 (T2), one of Sydney's operational metro corridors. This is the final stop on the line, so all passengers alight here. Trains turn around and head back towards Circular Quay.

What makes St James particularly useful is its interchange connection with T3, T8. If you need to switch between lines, this is where you'll do it – and you won't need to exit or purchase a new ticket. The interchange corridor is clearly signposted with color-coded directions.

The area around St James station offers good connectivity to local landmarks. St Mary's Cathedral is about a 3-minute walk from the exit.
