Bondi Junction metro station is the closest to Bondi Beach, though you'll want to factor in the 25-minute walk (or grab an auto). It's not the shortest commute, but the metro still beats sitting in Sydney traffic.
While you're in the area, consider checking out Coogee Beach and Centennial Parklands – they're near the same metro station and can easily be combined into a single trip.
